The little boy sat in silence as his hero drew his weapon. This was sure to be the battle of his life and the kid knew it. The conditions were ripe for a grueling fight and the kid planned to sit through it all.

His hero came out swinging and delievered what should have been an unrecoverable lead off blow. But the enemy was worthy and fought back hard.

Victory was snatched from his heros hand and the little guy was devasted. He watched intently as the tears rolled down his face. He realized that his hero was not invincible.

    Nice take on the word for the week. It is so difficult to see a hero lose…but an important life lesson.

    Like a cowboy steak, well done. I remember the first time I ever heard the word invincible. It was when Muhammed Ali lost to Leon Spinks in 1978 and the announcers said Ali was no longer invincible.

  8. It seems to be part of growing up, doesn’t it? That we must realize our heroes are fallible.
